Puppy and Kitten Vaccination Schedules Explained

The first months of a puppy or kitten’s life include a series of vaccinations that protect against some of the most serious, preventable diseases they could encounter.

The Core Schedule

Most puppies and kittens start their first round around six to eight weeks old, with boosters roughly every three to four weeks until about sixteen weeks. This staggered schedule accounts for maternal antibodies gradually wearing off.

Why Timing Matters

Skipping or delaying boosters can leave a gap where a young pet has little protection at all. Sticking to the schedule your vet recommends is one of the simplest, highest-impact things you can do in those first few months.
